A Vision of k-12 Students Today

A Vision of K-12 Students Today is a great video that all educators need to watch. Children today are "digital natives," and sadly most of there teachers are "digital immigrants." I too am a "digital immigrant," and I am now realizing the profound importance of technology integration in schools. Until taking this class I was not very technology literate and still know that I have much learning ahead of me. But even knowing this, videos like this one point the obvious to some, for me, a kindergarten teacher, it opens your eyes to much, much more. The video mentions that we learn by doing. I am a die-hard believer in this statement, I guess that comes my early childhood background. Kids today must be using technology "whenever, wherever, whatever," and sadly they get most of that use at home. In order to prepare them for the world they will face upon leaving the school system, we should work harder to learn the technologies our students are using, in order to enhance learning. After all, it is our job.
